Few Cleaning Secrets To Steal From Hotel Housekeepers

Being a mom of four siblings is an enjoyable status but not an easy job when is up to cleaning the mess that is left behind every single day. I have always wanted to find out a quick yet efficient way of cleaning, and I remembered where to look for the answer yes the hotel housekeepers.

I'll share some secrets and helpful tricks that were passed along to me from a friend of mine that loves her hotel maid job. Send all the house members on a pic-nick, a walk in the park or even to the closest supermarket and assign them to buy as many products as possible in order to save more time for organizing yourself and the mess in the house.

When you start cleaning have in mind first to:

  • Clear the clutter! Empty the trash and take it out, strip the bed and put the removed linens together with the unclean towels directly in the laundry room, clear off counters and surfaces.
  • Once you are done check which household cleaning products are in your arm's reach and continue with the next step. Useful note: when bed-making and putting the freshly washed sheets, remember that tags always go on the bottom.
  • Before mopping, vacuum the floors. You certainly don't want a wet hair on the floor. If you want to hit the most walked-on spots, start vacuuming over the high-traffic area.
  • What is the secret to efficient dusting? Well, the answer is easy-use a proper cleaning cloth. Microfiber is the best, but if you don't have one, use a 100% cotton rag. Beware - polyester creates more dust. No point in creating extra work for ourselves, right!
  • Let your household cleaning products to work for you. Spray the shower walls, the toilet and the other dirty surfaces and leave them to do their job for several minutes. Meanwhile, you can focus on cleaning the windows, mirrors or any other glass item. After a while go back and wash them off.
  • One thing is for sure, when replacing the old tooth brush with a new one, remember to save it as a cleaning tool to reach the tiniest cracks and the bottom screws of a toilet in the bathroom.
  • Do you have any bottle of white vinegar that you use it from time to time, stacked among other kitchen products? If so, then it is time to activate it as a secret weapon against the dirty stains, floors and any other surfaces. Accompanied by the good ancient ingredient -the famous baking soda, that can make miracles in no time.
  • At the end let's take a cue from the hotel housekeepers and make a mini version of our own handy carts. Fill it with all the necessary household cleaning supplies, sprays, brushes, gloves, rags, scourers and enter into the world of a new shiny home.
