In old times when there was not much choice of things to entertain oneself with, people found ways to still keep their bodies in shape and have some fun. The fun of roller skating brought to the appearance of skateboards as roller skating wheels made their use with boards as well. It was the ideal way for surfers to practice on shore away from waves. This was possible because of the design of the skateboard which made crossing of uneven surfaces seem as the experience of sliding through waves. Skateboarding quickly gained momentum and has been among the most popular sports ever since. Though when practice of skateboarding is mentioned, one immediately thinks of teenagers, it can also be the perfect exercise for children as young as six (with adequate supervision) and adults alike.
